About the Project

Hello and welcome to Parallel Rhythms, an exploration in mark-making, music and light.

Our two year project is being supported by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s Teacher Development Fund initiative.

Six schools are on the Parallel Rhythms journey, they are:

Castle Hill School (SEN)

Berry Brow Infant School

South Crosland C of E Junior School

Fairfield (SEN)

Roberttown Junior and Infant School

Headlands C of E Junior Infant & Nursery School

Our inspiring and uplifting project is being led by wonderfully creative artists from The Colour Foundry.  Through sharing their artistic passions and knowledge, they will ignite imaginations and be a catalyst for creative change for teachers and children alike.

Parallel Rhythms - our project outline

This project is an exciting exploration of the learning opportunities inherent within traditional and digital mark-making, experienced through creative happenings. Putting inclusion and the celebration of individuality at the fore, this programme will deliver art, music and projection activities that are joyful and engaging. The activities will provide rich triggers for reflection and ultimately action, providing a platform for teachers to further develop creativity within their practice and teaching, along with the ability to ignite and inspire learners.

The Colour Foundry

thecolourfoundry.com

The Colour Foundry is a collaboration of exploration and play between artists; Fabric Lenny, Urban Projections & Nicolas Lewis, their work explores the beauty of connecting with the natural world, and how we are all integrally linked.  The Colour Foundry make spaces and places more inclusive and impactful for audiences. They are curious about how digital technologies can mix with the hand-made, to transform public space, giving agency to people.

Collaboration and co-creation is always at the heart of their practice.

You can find out more about The Colour Foundry artists on their own individuals websites.
